Compassionate Inquiry

What is present for you? What emotions are beneath the surface, waiting for your attention? What wants to be expressed?

1-70

Welcome to Compassionate Inquiry®

Compassionate Inquiry® can help you to recognize that your conflicts, dysfunctions, addictions, anxieties, depression, and relationship patterns came along at a certain point in your life as coping mechanisms that helped you to survive. Once you understand this, you may realise that these adaptations are not who you are.

Compassionate Inquiry® approach supports you in developing an authentic relationship with yourself. We recognise that the primary source of suffering is our disconnection from the deepest parts of ourselves, often caused by childhood and intergenerational trauma. With the right attention, this connection can be restored.

You are your being, your essence which is whole and aware. It can never be damaged or broken.

Through the skilled and compassionate use of questions, I hold a mirror to your experience, allowing you to see yourself clearly, perhaps for the first time. The intention is to inquire into each situation and your response to it, so that you can understand the underlying unconscious dynamics and their origin.

Our Compassionate Inquiry® approach supports you in developing an authentic relationship with yourself. This Work May Be Right For You If…

Group 54

You live with chronic illness or persistent symptoms and are curious about their deeper emotional roots.

You sense there may be more to your healing than just physical treatment, and you’re open to exploring the mind-body connection.

Group 54

You struggle with addiction—whether to substances, behaviors, or thought patterns.

You find yourself stuck in habits that numb or distract, and you’re ready to meet the pain beneath with compassion.

Group 54

You want to understand the root causes behind your behaviors, triggers, or inner critic.

You’re tired of surface-level fixes and want to explore what’s really driving your reactions, thoughts, or patterns.

Group 54

You carry shame, guilt, or unresolved trauma from the past.

Old wounds still shape how you see yourself and others—and you long to release their hold on your life.

What Can Compassionate Inquiry Unlock?

  • Access to buried emotions through gentle somatic awareness — allowing you to feel and release what’s held in the body.

  • Greater self-compassion and the ability to hold your inner experience without judgment.
  • Healing from past trauma by recognizing how it lives in your body and story—and gently transforming it.

  • More authentic relationships as you learn to connect from a place of truth and presence.

What to Expect in a Session

1-34-2

Sessions are held on Zoom or in person and last between 45 minutes and 1 hour.

This is a space to slow down, connect inward, and explore whatever is present. I’ll guide you with curiosity and compassion, and together we’ll work toward greater clarity and self-understanding.

At the start of each session, I may invite you to set an intention. This helps bring focus, but there’s no pressure—some days you may come with clarity, other days, just showing up is enough.

Between sessions, I may suggest simple practices or reflections to support integration.

I also encourage you to build supportive habits and explore complementary tools that align with your healing process.

Is it time to gently turn toward what’s been asking for your attention?

Beginning one-on-one work to cultivate understanding, harmony, healing, and change is a courageous and meaningful step.

Meet your Guide

I’m Carmen—trauma-informed Breathwork facilitator, therapist, and yoga teacher— and I guide with the tools that have supported my own healing the most.

For over a decade, my spiritual practices supported me in overcoming addiction. But it wasn’t until I discovered Compassionate Inquiry that I was able to deeply understand the pain behind my struggles, gently explore hidden trauma I hadn’t even known existed, and hold my past pain with true compassion.

Since then, Compassionate Inquiry has become a central part of my work. It supports clients in exploring the beliefs that keep them disconnected from their truth and helps them recognize the roots of their suffering. Through compassionate presence and attuned mirroring, this process fosters healing and guides them toward a more authentic and empowered life.
